Today, Blue Sulphur Springs Pavilion sits in a quiet country field, but in the early 19th century, it was part of the Blue Sulphur Springs Resort, one of several popular mineral spas in the region.

All remnants of the resort are gone except for the Greek Revival pavilion that stands as West Virginia's sole resort pavilion. It's understated in design, with twelve sturdy columns supporting a square roof. Inside, there's a basin fed by a sulphur spring, flowing at a rate of 6 gallons per minute with a refreshing temperature of 58 degrees.

In 2013, Ms. Rebecca Fleshman Lineberry passed the Pavilion's title and 2 acres of land to the Greenbrier Historical Society. Thanks to The Friends of the Blue, the structure was saved from certain loss. In 2023, the Pavilion was re-dedicated and stands for all to enjoy.

Getting There
From I-64, take exit 161, Alta. At the top of the ramp, turn south onto WV-12. Travel about 4 miles to Spring Valley Road. Travel on this road approximately four more miles. The Blue Sulphur Springs Pavilion is on the left. (Drive time from the Alta exit is about 17 minutes.)

There is a pullout along the road with walking access to the Pavilion. It's open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM.
