"Art Loves Variety" Art Opening during First Fridays after Five
Sue, a Huntington native, moved to Lewisburg in 2009. She is a prior member of the Southeastern Indian Art Guild and current member of the Greenbrier Artist Group. She enjoys sketching and other artistic endeavors, but her first love is oil painting. She notes, “I have done some acrylic, watercolor and ink drawing, but oils still remain my favorite.” She won third place in both Carnegie Hall’s Season of Colors and White Sulphur Springs’s Dandelion Festival art competitions.
The Visitors Center began the Art in the Valley project as a way to provide local artists with an exhibition space. Each month the Visitors Center showcases a different artist or collection of artists. The exhibits are free and open to the public.
This month’s First Fridays After Five takes place on May 1st. During this event the shops, galleries and restaurants of downtown Lewisburg stay open late and welcome visitors with complimentary refreshments and entertainment.
