Greenbrier County CVB Now Accepting Art Show Applications

Lewisburg, WV (February 3, 2014) - The Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is excited to offer local artists an opportunity to display their artwork through the CVB's new art show program, Art in the Valley. The first exhibit, on display now through the month of February, features "A Brush in Time" artist, Marietta Lyall.

"The arts are an integral part of our area's uniqueness," said Kara Dense, Executive Director of the Greenbrier County CVB. "We felt it was only fitting to give artists an opportunity to display their creativity within the Visitors Center, where visitors and locals have the chance to view the exhibits seven days a week."

Art in the Valley was designed to provide an outlet for artists within a four-county region, Greenbrier, Monroe, Pocahontas and Summers, to display their work, which rotates on a monthly basis. Artists must complete an application which is then vetted through the CVB. Applicants will be required to adhere to several guidelines, and no artwork will be sold by the Visitors Center staff.

Marietta Lyall, a member of the Greenbrier Artists, creates work using bright watercolors, acrylics, pastels, mixed media and classic oils. Seventeen pieces of her work will be on display at the Visitors Center throughout February, and she will greet guests during Lewisburg's First Fridays After 5 on Friday, February 7th.
