Lewisburg, WV – The use of mobile technology, such as a smartphone or ipad, is as much a part of everyday life as record players and Walkmans once were. The pervasiveness of mobile devices has changed how business is conducted and its impact on tourism is especially important. These devices are used by Americans more and more to plan their travel.
To help local businesses capture the attention of these phone-wielding visitors, the Greenbrier Valley CVB (Convention and Visitors Bureau) is hosting an educational workshop. The session will be led by Miles Media, one of the world’s leading tourism marketing agencies that has worked with over 100 travel-focused businesses around the world.
The workshop covers how mobile technology has impacted traveler decision-making and which marketing strategies best reach them. A case study shows the importance of voice in creating an effective social media presence.
The forty-five minute session starts at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2nd at the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center located at 905 Washington Street in Lewisburg. All tourism related businesses are encouraged to attend and an RSVP is requested to either info@greenbrierwv.com or 304.645.1000.
